The number one ranked LSU Tiger baseball team may have had their fans concerned for just a bit in their game with Auburn Wednesday night. That concern went away in the 5th inning when the Tigers exploded for six runs to erase a 5 run deficit and take the lead. That lead would be good enough to put the Tigers in the winners bracket of the SEC Tournament being held in Hoover Alabama.

The game did begin well for LSU and sophomore left handed pitcher Jared Poche. Poche gave up 5 runs in the first inning. Only two of those runs were earned because the Tiger defense was uncharacteristically sloppy. There were two throwing errors in that first inning and it looked like the Tigers from Auburn were cruising to a major upset in the second day of the tournament.

Then came the 5th inning and the LSU bats unleashed their fury. Although it wasn't the over the wall kind of fury fans of LSU might have expected. There was timely hitting, some great base running, and an Auburn error that gave the LSU Tigers all the runs they needed to close out the night by a final score of 9 - 8.

LSU will move on to face the 5th seeded Arkansas Razorbacks tonight with game time approximately 8pm. Tiger fans can watch the game on the SEC Television Network.
