Luke Bryan is gearing up for the big 4-0 birthday, and he's not too happy about it. In an interview with ET Canada, the "Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Every Day" singer reveals that he's started making plans, but he's not necessarily looking forward to the milestone birthday.

"I wouldn't say I'm particularly excited about it," Bryan admits. "Thirty hit me pretty hard, 40 will hit me pretty hard [too]."

Bryan will be on the road on his Kill the Lights Tour when he turns 40 on July 17, but he reveals that he and and his wife, Caroline, have some fun plans to celebrate the occasion.

"Caroline has offered me to pick what I want to do for my birthday," the country star shares. "So we're probably going to get some friends together and try and go somewhere fishing or something like that."

A good day to Luke Bryan is sitting at his home in Nashville and spending time with his family. "We finally finished my house in Nashville," he spills. "[Now] I just want to sit at my piano at the house and write songs and watch my boys swim and play out on the farm."

The singer had a similar mentality during Father's Day — the big holidays are always enjoyed most when spent with his family.

"As long as I get to be with my family on important days, whether it’s birthdays or anniversaries — certainly Father’s Day or Mother’s Day — that’s all I need,” Bryan says. "Just let them make me a cup of coffee in the morning and I’m happy."
