Man Fleeing Deputies Crashes In Bayou Vista

St. Mary Parish deputies report that an Amelia man wanted on warrants for battery and kidnapping led them on a high-speed chase this week before the man ended up crashing his car in Bayou Vista.

Deputies say 31-year-old Jovian Jerome Clark will be booked on multiple charges once he is released from the hospital.

Clark faces one count of second-degree kidnapping.  Deputies say the charges stem from allegations that he held a woman hostage in a car while threatening her life back in March.

Deputies says that many things led up to Clark's arrest yesterday.  They say things started after Clark and another person got into an argument.  That incident was investigated by a deputy.

The deputy noted Clark's car, and he realized the man had several warrants out for his arrest.
