Man Found Dead In Iberia Parish In Apparent Homicide

A man was found dead at an abandoned home in Iberia Parish around 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Sergeant Stephen Guidry with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office says the unidentified man was found laying in the front yard in the 800 block of Edna Street. He says the victim appeared to have been shot.

The Iberia Parish Coroner's Office will determine the cause of death and notify the victim's next-of-kin before releasing the identification.

The case is being treated as a homicide.
