Man Stands By Road and Gives Away Birthday Money to Strangers

With so much bad news and negativity in the world, it's stories like the following that give us hope about the goodness of people.

Bob Blackely, a 57-year-old retired special needs teacher from North Carolina, decided to celebrate his birthday by standing on a roadside and giving away his birthday money. Blackely simply held up a sign that read: "I have a job, I have a home, Can you use an extra $5?"

His $285 went in a couple of hours. Then his wife showed up and gave him some more money -- to pay forward. In all, Blackely gave away 590 bucks!

While Blackely said his generosity was met with some strange looks, he plans to do it again for his next birthday.

That's just cool! I think any of us who can afford to do this, should!!
