Man Trying To Shoot Raccoon, Shoots Himself – Twice

A 68-year-old man from Redfield, Iowa is recovering from two gunshot wounds after he tried to shoot a trapped raccoon and his shots ricocheted and hit him in the stomach.

Larry Godwin aimed his 22-caliber at the rodent and fired a shot, which proceeded to bounce off the metal trap and hit him in the stomach. He then dropped the gun and it discharged, hitting him again in the stomach!

Mr. Godwin was treated in the hospital for non life-threatening wounds.

No word on the fate of the raccoon.
