Linton James Batiste, who was wanted in Lafayette and St. Martin parishes is behind bars.

Lafayette City Marshal Earl Picard says Batiste was wanted for Failing to Appear for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Control Dangerous Substances, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, Failing to Appear for Arraignment on Required Signal and No Driver's License.

Authorities then found out Batiste was wanted in St. Martin Parish for Failure to Appear for Theft of $1,500.00 or more with a bond set at $7,500.00.

Batiste has been placed in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and hold was placed on him for St. Martin Parish authorities.
