Update: Funeral arrangements are pending for the man who fell off a float during a Mardi Gras parade in Lafayette. According to the Krewe of Apollo's Facebook page, Quinn Dejean died Tuesday (Feb. 16) afternoon following a week and a half of hospitalization. Dejean was said to be riding atop a float when he fell to the ground along the parade route near the intersection of Johnston and Whittington Streets. The Krewe's Facebook page references that DeJean underwent surgery last Thursday to "relieve pressure on his brain."

The unidentified rider who fell off a float in the Friday Night Parade in Lafayette is still in critical condition after Lafayette Police say they are still not sure why the person fell off the top level, according to our news partners at KATC.

It happened on Johnston Street and Whittington Drive. Officers have been interviewing people riding on the float to figure out why the person fell.
