The Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette will be hosting a really unique show early next year.

Farewell Alligator Man: A Tribute to the Music of Jimmy C Newman happens January 17-18, 2019 at the venue with Marty Stuart, Connie Smith and Doug Kershaw.

The event will be hosted by Joel Savoy and features a stellar lineup of national and local musicians.

Of course, Jimmy C. Newman of Mamou had an incredible career on the national scene, performing on the Grand Ole Opry for 58 years until his death in 2014.

Coming together to celebrate his legacy is a group of friends from very different roots music regions from across the United States.

Host Joel Savoy will be joined by Caleb Klauder (Mandolin, Guitar, and Vocal), Reeb Willms (Guitar and Vocal), Rusty Blake (Pedal Steel and Guitar), Matt Meyer (Drums), and local musicians Kelli Jones (Fiddle, Guitar and Vocal), Gary Newman (Bass), Chris Stafford (Piano and Guitar), and Jesse Lége (Accordion).

Tickets for this event are on sale now and begin at $32. Purchase tickets and get more info at www.acadianacenterforthearts.org.
