Country Music Hall of Fame member, the legendary Mel Tillis, is allegedly in critical condition following surgery in a Nashville hospital. In March of 2014, he underwent heart surgery and made a full recovery, and today FOX NEWS is reporting that 83-year-old Tillis has had colon surgery. Country Rebel says the family of the wildly popular singer and songwriter are asking for prayers on social media. His PR firm allegedly posted, and later deleted, a message asking for fan support, according to Wide Open Country.

Mel Tillis had a huge hit in 1979 with 'Coca Cola Cowboy', which was written by Acadiana's own Sandy Pinkard, along with Sam Atchley and Bud Dain and Steven Dorff. Watch the video below, and keep a good thought for Mel Tillis, ya'll.
