Midland give their latest single “Burn Out” the '80s country treatment in a smooth new music video.

The countrified video is basically straight out of a classic country movie, filmed inside Texas honky-tonk Billy Bob’s, where friends go for good music and drinks. Midland is the main act, and the trio deliver all the twang and country flair as they transform the song’s sense of sadness over a lost love into a video that’s slightly more optimistic.

Watchin' cigarettes burn out / 'Til all the neon gets turned out / I was so on fire for you it hurts, how / Fast a cigarette can burn out,” Midland croon as the local crowd glides across the dance floor around them.

After one particularly rude customer gets aggressive with the leading lady, Midland lead singer Mark Wystrach swoops in and saves the day, putting a smile on her face as he charms her on the dance floor.

In a behind-the-scenes clip from the video shoot, the group reveal that the video is actually a tribute to the 1980 film, Urban Cowboy, starring John Travolta and Debra Winger. They shot the video in the famous honky-tonk in Fort Worth, Texas, where much of the film’s plot takes place.

"Every one of our heroes is on the walls," Wystrach shares in the video. "It's the biggest honky-tonk that has this kind of history to it. It's so cool that they're letting us do this here."

In addition to scoring their first No. 1 single with “Drinkin’ Problem,” the group consisting of Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson earned another big win when they got a call from Reba McEntire declaring them as New Vocal Group of the Year in the 2018 ACM Awards. They recently wrapped up the Breakers Tour with Little Big Town and will perform at a series of festivals and fairs throughout summer of 2018.
