Where there is smoke there is fire and in the case of LSU Coach Les Miles there appears to be a firestorm brewing. The LSU faithful are deservedly upset that the Tigers can't seem to beat Alabama and former Tiger's coach Nick Saban.  The fact that LSU has swooned after the Alabama game the past few seasons appears to be enough of a reason for the rumor mill to be running on high that Les Miles days in Baton Rouge are numbered.

In his weekly conversation with the media Coach Miles said all the talk about his demise is not where his focus or the team's focus will be placed.

At some point and time there's a me in this, but not when I'm coaching. This will always be about our players and the team. Speculation on my job at this point is off limits. The information I have is do your job as you would do it.

Miles' has been the top Tiger at LSU for the past 11 seasons and in order to remove him from the head coaching job it is speculated that a contract buyout of $15 million. While that number might seem extremely high to you and I in the world of big time college football it's a small price to pay.

Who might the Tigers select for their next coach should Miles be removed? Speculation is that Florida State Coach Jimbo Fisher is the name on the short list.

There has also been talk of Dabo Swinney the current coach of Clemson or Gary Patterson who is coach at TCU being considered for a job at LSU. From the NFL ranks former coach Jon Gruden is the name most prominently mentioned , while some national sources have tossed in Chip Kelly's name. Kelly is the current coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Regardless the Tigers have at least one more game to play. They will face Texas A&M on Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
