Mississippi State will make Christopher Walken really proud on Thursday night. The Starkville, Mississippi based school will attempt the Guinness World Records title for most people ringing cowbells simultaneously.

The record attempt will happen at the Cowbell Yell this Thursday at 9pm at Davis Wade Stadium.

How many cowbells must be a ringing together? Well, that answer is a little foggy.

There is no current record holder in the category, however, MSU must beat the current record holder for largest cowbell ensemble.

On August 1st more than 1,000 people rang cowbells at a running race in Royal Oak, Michigan, but this record has yet to be verified. According to Guinness World Records, the current record for largest cowbell ensemble is a gathering of 640 people in Switzerland on Sept. 6, 2009.

Good thing for LSU football fans that the game between the two schools happens on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for 8:15pm and will be broadcast on ESPN.
