Jennings Police have issued a warning to retailers and consumers in the area. That warning is to double check your cash before you try to spend it or you accept it as legal tender. This warning is prompted by more reports of counterfeit bills showing up in the Jeff Davis Parish community.

As noted in the Facebook post above from the Jennings Police many of the bills bear the words "Motion Picture Use Only". This means the bills were printed to be used as props in movies or theatrical productions. However, there are some ne'er do wells that are passing off these bills, ranging from $5 to $100 denominations, like real money.

Police encourage you to check your wallet and be cognizant of whether or not you're being remunerated in legal tender. Should you encounter someone attempting to pass a fake bill you're encouraged to notify your local law enforcement agency. They will take it from there.
