As we all know, if you go any place cool, you are kind of required by law to snap a photo and post it on Instagram.

OK, maybe that's a bit of a jokey joke, but you get my drift. It's just what we do. It's the ultimate, "look where I am and you're not".

A website called Busbud analyzed millions of photos to figure out which place in each state gets Instagrammed the most.

They even broke it down into five major categories:

  1. Nature and Beaches - examples include Grand Canyon in Arizona and Denali National Park in Alaska
  2. Sports Venues - like Wrigley Field in Illinois and Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana
  3. Major Landmarks - good ole places like Bourbon Street in New Orleans and the Empire State Building in New York
  4. Zoos - randomly a zoo is #1 in Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island
  5. Dollywood - Yeah, as in the theme park owned by Dolly Parton in Tennessee. It's the most Instagrammed location in Tennessee. Guess this shouldn't be its own category but I felt like I had to mention it.

So, yes, Bourbon Street gets shown more on Instagram than any other location in Louisiana. Well played Bayou State, way to put our best foot forward!

Here is the graphic showing the top Instagrammed location in each of the 50 states.
