One of the most recognizable faces in the Catholic community has passed away. Mother Angelica, the nun who launched Eternal World Television Network in 1981, died on Easter Sunday at the age of 92.

From its humble beginnings in a garage at an Alabama monastery, EWTN expanded over the years into an influential multi-media operation. Its channels now broadcast to over 264 million households around the world.

I'll always remember watching her on TV with my mom and enjoying her soft-spoken and articulate delivery mixed with a sweet sense of humor, all while helping us further understand our Catholic faith.

Angelica appeared regularly on the network, hosting "Mother Angelica Live", a show where she led religious discussions with viewers.

After stepping down from leading EWTN in the early 2000s, Angelica suffered a stroke that impaired her speech and limited her mobility.

Godspeed Mother Angelica, your kind spirit will be missed.
