From our friends at The Boot: Naomi Judd, one half of the country music superstar duo The Judds, was very unhappy with the way the 2013 CMT Music Awards handled their tribute to departed country legend George Jones last week, and she's not afraid to say so in public. In a letter to Nashville's Tennessean newspaper, Judd takes the awards show to task for not only their scanty tribute to Jones, but also their increasing focus on multi-genre collaborations. I'm sure she was talking about Lenny Kravitz singing with Jason Aldean, and Nelly's collaboration with Florida Georgia Line during the show. And FYI : Lenny Kravitz, Jason Mraz, and Kid Rock also performed at the nightly shows during CMA Music Festival - which was awesome, but kinda confusing at the same time. It's like the CMA doesn't feel like our festival, and the subsequent televised ABC Special is not 'cool' enough without some rockers being involved. Just sayin'....
