Kenneth Leger (right) and Michael Dupre (left) were acting erratically during a routine traffic stop in the Mermentau area of Acadia Parish on Tuesday. Narcotics agents were given the okay to search the car the men were in. That search yielded a bag of what is believed to be marijuana and crystal meth. Drug paraphernalia was also found in the car.

They were charged as follows:

Kenneth C. Leger, 68, Morse was charged with PWITD Marijuana, PWITD Crystal Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Michael Dupre, 32, Mermentau was charged with Possession of Crystal Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In a written statement, Sheriff KP Gibson said, “I appreciate the effort of our personnel to fight illegal drug activity and crime in general within our parish. Our efforts will continue”.
