I believe we have all smelled our share of stench on an airplane. When I consider the feet, the food, and the bad breath of fellow travelers that I have had to put up with on a plane. I can only imagine just how high the level of stink would have to reach to force a cross-country flight to divert.

Authorities have still not determined the origin of the stink that forced an Alaskan Airlines jet with scheduled service from San Francisco to New Orleans to make an unscheduled stop in Los Angeles.

The 136 passengers aboard the aircraft were deplaned safely and no emergency situation was declared by the flight crew. The passengers were rebooked onto other flights. Meanwhile, Alaskan Airlines technicians were searching for the source of the odor.
