This will not come as a big shock to anyone who has been following Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns football team -- they're probably going to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl for a fourth straight year.

What's the hold up in the announcement? Well, after Georgia Southern finished off UL-Monroe on Saturday evening, the Eagles clinched the Sun Belt Conference championship. As a FCS team making the transition to the FBS (formerly Division I), the school is ineligible for a postseason bowl.

Not so fast.

According to the Savannah Morning News, the school is petitioning the NCAA to try to get bowl-eligible. That is believed to be the reason the New Orleans Bowl officials have held up in extending a public invitation to the Cajuns.

Whatever the outcome of that ruling, UL is still believed to make their fourth consecutive trip to the Big Easy.

The 2014 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl is scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday, December 20th at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
