A trip to New Orleans never seemed complete without a stop at the Riverwalk Marketplace. That shopping destination has been closed for some time now while renovations were taking place. According to NOLA.com shoppers won't be waiting much longer to see what's different about the newly revamped Riverwalk.

Sources close to the developers say that as of October 2013 over 90% of the retail space had been rented. Those sources now say that almost every space has been gobbled up by retail outlets who are looking for the return of big crowds with disposable income who visit New Orleans.

Among the tenants shoppers can expect to find at the Riverwalk once the doors open on the 70 million dollar renovation: Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill, Cafe Du Monde, Guess Factory Store, Tommy Bahama, Raising Canes, and LOFT Outlet.

The grand reopening has been set for May 22nd. The Riverwalk is located along the banks of the Mississippi River at the base of Canal and Poydras Streets.
