It is practice football. Of all the practice football games an NFL team will play the next to the last one is always the one fans can look at to get an indication of how their team will fare in the regular season.

Saturday night in the Mercedes Benz Superdome the New Orleans Saints first team looked as ready as any Saints team has looked over the past few years. The offense was clicking and considering the complete void at the linebacker position the defense had its moments too. You can see what Quarterback Drew Brees thought of the performance by clicking here.

At the end of a very entertaining first half the Saints and Texans were tied at 24 each. In the second half when the second and third team members got their time on the field the Saints were able to add ten more points while the Texans could only manage a field goal. The final score was New Orleans 34 - Houston 27.

The Saints have on final preseason practice game on Thursday against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. That game will be at 6pm Central time and you can hear the game on our sister station SportsRadio ESPN 1420. The Saints will kick off the regular season on 97.3 The Dawg Sunday September 9 at Noon against the Washington Redskins.
