The saga of the cancelled St. Martinville Mardi Gras parade continues...

The Newcomers Club has held its parade in St. Martinville for decades but will relocate to Baldwin after St. Martinville city officials canceled their parade, reports KATC.

Newcomers' Club president Janise Anthony thanked the people of Baldwin for inviting them to join their parade, and asked that the community support the Baldwin parade 'We encourage everyone to support them and see our royalty at the same time. Despite this year’s challenges, the club is proud to celebrate its 55th year of Mardi Gras celebrations, which showcases the customs, people and heritage of its community.'

The club's royalty floats will roll in Baldwin's annual Mardi Gras parade, set for 12 PM on Saturday, February 6. The Newcomers' Club is encouraging their supporters to attend.
