Two small towns in southwest Louisiana are now under a voluntary evacuation order. Both Kinder and Oberlin, in Allen Parish, are now under a voluntary evacuation due to the potential of rising waters.

Authorities are keeping an eye on a swollen Calcasieu River, thus that's why this order has been placed in both small towns.

Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert said 23 homes along the river flooded. He advises those that live near the river to stay vigilant and keep on the rising water.

The Sheriff also encourages citizens to avoid the river if at all possible, and he reminds all citizens in the parish to obey signs that have been posted throughout the parish.
