One Dead After Several Crash In Rayne Area

The Rayne Police Chief says one person has died, and his officers have been working several traffic crashes that happened in the Eastbound lanes of Interstate Ten Wednesday morning.

The first crash happened around mile marker 90 on I-10 about ten minutes before 8 o'clock.  Three crashes followed between 8:35 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.

The final crash involved a pickup truck, a delivery truck and an 18 wheeler.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner.

One other person was treated at the scene of the crash, while another person was taken to an area hospital.

One Eastbound lane of traffic is open, and police are still investigating today's fatal crash.
