LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Police have now identified the man who was killed in a crash on the Ambassador Caffery Parkway overpass north of Cameron Street.  The victime was 24-year-old Christopher Clement of Lake Arthur.

Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton says one of two motorcyclists crashed into the back of Ford F-150 pickup truck. The other motorcyclist was able to lay his bike down so as to avoid the truck.

Mouton says the the driver who crashed into the truck died at the scene from his injuries. His name has not yet been released.

The other biker and the driver of the truck were not injured.

Police shut down the southbound lanes of the busy street for nearly three hours as they worked the crash. The roadway was re-opened shortly after 2 p.m.
