Opelousas Presents ‘Movies in the Park’ Saturday

The City of Opelousas is inviting the public to sit under the beautiful stars at South City Park for 'Movies in the Park' on Saturday, June 14th. The featured film for this week is 'Monsters University', and it will be shown on the east side of the park, 1524 S. Market St., near the playground area. The free movie begins at dusk, and concessions will be available for purchase from South Louisiana Select Stars, a nonprofit organization that benefits area youth. No ice chests or alcohol will be allowed in the park.

The summer concert series continues on July 12 with 'Frozen', and Aug. 9 with the “LEGO Movie.”. For more info on Movies in the Park call the tourism office at 337-948-5227.
