Ed Orgeron is used to the term "interim coach". He was the interim coach at the University of Southern California. He is now the interim coach for the LSU Tigers.

Orgeron's coaching resume' also includes stops at Ole Miss as a head coach. He has also served in assistant coaching jobs at the University of Miami, the University of Tennessee, and the University of  Arkansas. He has also been a part of  the coaching staff of the New Orleans Saints. While he may have the tag "interim" Coach O knows football he also knows the Southeastern Conference.

Reports are now surfacing that it was Coach Orgeron who actually dismissed the LSU Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron. I suppose like many of the Tiger faithful he was less than impressed with the LSU anemic play when they had the ball. Coach O intends to to change that.

I have a different passing game, we want to be more creative, find ways for the quarterback to get the ball down the field, throwing it.

LSU is currently ranked 12th in the SEC in passing yards. That's a statistic that will have to change if the Tigers hope to open running lanes for Leonard Fournette and others.

Another complaint that many fans and observers had of former coach Les Miles what his poor clock management.

We are going to work very hard on that practice, we are going to work very hard on clock management. I'll have someone in the press box that is specifically in charge of clock management and game management.

Coach Orgeron's comments were made to the Louisiana Radio Network and other members of the media during the weekly LSU press conference.

Orgeron's first game as head coach will be this Saturday when the Missouri Tigers travel to Baton Rouge. Kickoff for that game is scheduled to be at 6:30 PM. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
