Keith Urban‘s fans may have been disappointed when the ‘For You’ singer had to postpone his annual All for the Hall benefit concert due to vocal cord surgery. Though the concert was originally set to take place mid-January, Urban’s vocal rest caused him to reschedule the annual Country Music Hall of Fame fundraiser for tonight, April 10. And while fans had to wait three months for the event, Urban went out of his way this morning to make it well worth their while.
The verdict is in for People Country’s hottest guy, and the top cowboy stud of the year just so happens to be now widely-loved ‘The Voice‘ celebrity coach and country star Blake Shelton. The Oklahoma native is (not surprisingly) quite “aww shucks” about the whole thing, telling the magazine, ”I think it’s funny because there is nothing about me, if I was a girl, that I would think is sexy” (quotes via the Boot). But country ladies everywhere seem to disagree.
CBS’ afternoon talk show ‘The Talk’ is getting a bit of a country makeover — but only for one week. In honor of the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, the show, which stars hosts Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Leah Remini and Sheryl Underwood, is going country. The hosts will invite a cast of celebrity country acts to come perform, co-host and, well, talk with them during the week leading up to the 47th Annual ACM Awards.
Congratulations are in order once again for Keith Urban, who has hit the No. 1 slot on the country singles chart right now for the 14th time. His latest single, ‘You Gonna Fly,’ written by the LoCash Cowboys‘ Preston Brust and Chris Lucas (along with Jaren Johnston), spent only 19 weeks on the chart before reaching the top, marking one of the singer’s fastest rising hits to date.
Keith Urban was in Austin, TX over the weekend as part of his concert for the Beyond Batten Disease Foundation. The organization helps bring awareness to children suffering from that rare genetic disorder.
The Band Perry have scored their second chart-topping single this week, as their latest release ‘All Your Life’ sits pretty at No. 1 on the Billboard country singles chart. Locking in the No. 1 position on the Mediabase / Country Aircheck chart is Chris Young with ‘You,’ which was Billboard’s top song last week.
Keith Urban has written a song for the soundtrack of the upcoming film "Act of Valor".
Someone better tell Taylor Swift to add a wing onto her house in order to store all of her awards, since she just added another one to her copious collection of trophies and statuettes. The singer won the Favorite Country Artist Award at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards, which were televised this evening (Jan. 11).
