Last week, the CMT Awards announced the beginnings of a performance lineup for the 2012 show. The original bill was already pretty stellar, as it includes big names like Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney on the roster. But the performance schedule got quite a bit sweeter when a few country icons and future country legends joined the ticket.
Brad Paisley has announced more dates for his current headlining trek, the Virtual Reality Tour. The additional dates begin on Friday, May 18 and will continue through October.
‘American Idol‘ Season 11 country hopeful Skylar Laine did it again. She turned in a flawless pair of performances.
I guess once you've sold millions of records, had countless number one songs, toured to sold-out arenas, all else there is left to do is get in a cartoon.
To keep fans updated on the progress of his next album release, Brad Paisley will be posting weekly videos of his time in the studio, where he’s hard at work on new music. This week, you can see exactly how much work country star puts into his records as he throws down vocal tracks, talks with his producers and goes hand-in-hand with session players.
Big congrats to Taylor Swift! The country cutie was crowned Entertainer of the Year at the 2012 ACM Awards, marking her second consecutive win of the prestigious fan-voted award. Although she was the youngest nominee in the category, going up against country vets Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton, Swift managed to get the most fan votes to win Entertainer of the Year once again.
It was three straight hours of back-to-back performances that barely left time for a bathroom break on Sunday night. The 2012 ACM Awards felt more like an all-star jam than an awards ceremony, not that anyone is complaining.
The final award given out on Sunday night will name the country artist who — all things considered — had the best year in 2011. There’s no formula for how a voter should choose. It’s some magic mix of sales, concert draw, chart success, high-profile appearances and “heat.” Everybody has their own special blend to decide which artist is tops. Fans can still vote at www.VoteACM.com.
The verdict is in for People Country’s hottest guy, and the top cowboy stud of the year just so happens to be now widely-loved ‘The Voice‘ celebrity coach and country star Blake Shelton. The Oklahoma native is (not surprisingly) quite “aww shucks” about the whole thing, telling the magazine, ”I think it’s funny because there is nothing about me, if I was a girl, that I would think is sexy” (quotes via the Boot). But country ladies everywhere seem to disagree.
