The New Starbucks Red Cup Christmas Design

Each year, Starbucks unveils their new Christmas cup. Usually, it's a red cup with little snowflakes, ice skates and other holiday symbols. This year, they've taken a minimalist approach to the design by releasing a simple red cup with the green Starbucks logo on it. Consumers are kind of freaking out about it, saying that Starbucks is "Killing Christmas" and accusing them of buckling to political correctness.

And here is the new cup that's making everyone angry -

I don't know, call me crazy, but I like the cups. I dig the simple sleekness of it. It still says Christmas to me. Maybe I'm naive, but I just don't see this as Starbucks trying to be politically correct. I see this as Starbucks coming up with a different design for their holiday cups that they haven't done before. Sure, there's no Christian symbolism involved, but looking at past cups, there wasn't really any to begin with. Snowflakes and skates are not symbolic of Christianity.

I mean, people are talking about boycotting over this. I just don't get it.
