Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter will all be aligned, and visible from Earth, for the first time in over 10 years, when they appear in a diagonal row on Wednesday, Jan. 20. These 5 are called 'The Bright Planets' because they are usually visible to the naked eye from Earth, and the solar show will continue until Feb 20, in the pre dawn hours. The last time this happened, with a similar line-up, was between Dec 15, 2004 and Jan 15, 2005.

According to Earthsky.org, The next time the planets align is predicted to be Aug 13 to 19, 2016. This is completely fascinating, and I for one will be watching with my telescope starting on Wednesday, January 20! Read more about the planets aligning, and what exactly to look for.
