Popeyes Applicant Helps Stop Robbery During Job Interview

We've all been on job interviews. You know, just you and your potential future boss...and someone trying to rob the establishment where you're trying to get a job.

That's exactly what happened at a Popeyes in New Orleans recently.

Manager Danyanna Metoyer was interviewing 18-year-old Devin Washington when a thief ran in and grabbed some dough from the cash register.

Metoyer and Washington sprang into action. The manager blocked the door while the applicant grabbed the thief by the arms.

Metoyer says she and assistant manager Monique Griffin already had decided to hire Washington, but hadn’t had a chance to tell him. She says they told him afterward, “You’re hired. You earned it.”

Police say 50-year-old Pablo Ciscart was arrested on a simple robbery charge.
