Whatever you did on New Year's Eve was probably not as fun as attending the annual 'Possum Drop' in Brasstown, North Carolina. Really. After a small hiatus, thanks to PETA, the Possum Drop was back this year, and by all accounts, was a huge success.. The whole thing originated 22 years ago from Brasstown resident Clay Logan, who thought that the possum was Brasstown's official mascot... and decided on an annual event to drop it from the roof of his store on New Year's Eve. 'Drop' is not exactly accurate, since the possum is actually gently lowered in a glass case so that it won't get hurt. Awesome.

So, if you're looking for some fun for NEXT New Years Eve, head to Clay's Corner Store in Brasstown, NC. Yee Haw!
