It doesn't happen that often south of I-10 but when it does we all try it. What I am talking about is walking on ice. Sure we've seen our Icegators glide across the frozen swamp at high speed but for us regular folks walking on ice is not something we do often or do well.

The fact that the temperature will only drop below freezing for a few days each year is the main reason most of us don't get the chance to slide on the ice. You don't have to travel too far to the north to find frozen water in gutters and driveways. In the arctic climate that is North Mississippi that is where I first learned the dangers of walking on ice.  This cute little one finds out in the cutest way just how treacherous the slippery stuff can be.
