Close friends Fred Mills and Scott Angelle, from St. Martinville and Breaux Bridge respectively, are teaming up to raise awareness for the children of Acadiana who need adoption. And they are doing it in a unique way.

The two men will be lifted high up above the 600 block of Kaliste Saloom, across from St. Pius, on Friday. This promotion is part of a larger project in which the Louisiana Family Forum is raising funds for adoption awareness statewide.

"There are a number of children in Louisiana that are in foster homes and this is an opportunity, perhaps, to help put them in permanent homes," says Angelle. "It was either, perhaps, shave our heads or get up on a billboard and, you know, the shaving the head idea did not go over too big at home."

Mills and Angelle will be up on the billboard at 5:00 a.m. They are asking for donations so they "can be brought back to 'firm ground' ASAP." But Mills says they are prepared for however long they have to stay up.

"We've been practicing. So we dump ourselves in the bayou every afternoon and sit outside and shiver a little bit. So we're working out right now."

To get them down from the billboard, DONATE by calling 1-800-606-6470 or texting Cajun to 99000.

"Fred and I are both $1,000,000 percent pro-life and we believe in that cause and have had the good fortune to be from strong families that have a great deal of faith," says Angelle. "When we were contacted about this opportunity and we kinda looked at it, in my mind, you can't be pro-life unless you're also pro-adoption. And it was a way to say, 'It's not just about words. It's about actions.'"

A "very special guest" is also joining with the two men to help bring awareness to adoption. Meet Taunte Pills by watching the video below:
