The only time I have ever seen a bear in real life is a zoo. Based upon that observation I can tell you they are really big and  you don't want to be on the business end of those claws. In all of the nature shows I have watched they always tell you the one place you don't want to be in the woods is between a mother bear and her cubs. If you put those two ideas that bears are dangerous and mother bears can be really dangerous why would you dare put yourself in a situation that could be life threatening?

In this case it was to save a life, two lives in fact the lives of two baby bear cubs that found themselves trapped in a dumpster. I think this rescue is really amazing in purpose and procedure. I would have never thought of dropping  ladder in the dumpster and letting the cubs crawl out on their own. I guess that just shows I don't know much about bears. Other than the fact they like clothes that are soft in the dryer and they hate having little bits of toilet paper stuck to their bottoms when they do what bears do in the woods.
