Louisiana Ragin' Cajun sophomore running back/kick returner Raymond Calais scored the quickest points to begin a season in program history, taking the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown in Saturday's win over SLU.

Before the first quarter was over, Calais returned another kickoff for a touchdown, going 100 yards to the house.

It was no surprise today when the Sun Belt Conference announced the Special Teams Player of the Week, Calais was the choice.

Calais, who was a prep star at Cecilia High, finished the night with 229 all-purpose yards, which currently ranks 5th in the NCAA.

Louisiana (1-0) heads to Tulsa on Saturday for a week 2 matchup with the Golden Hurricane (0-1). Kickoff is set for 3:00pm, with pregame beginning at 1:00 on ESPN1420 and ESPN1420.com.
