Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns baseball team may have come short in their quest of making it to a College World Series, but their achievements on the field in 2014 haven't gone unnoticed by the national media.

The Cajuns still finished ranked in the top 10 of most of the major polls. The team finished #6 in Perfect Game, #7 in the Baseball America poll, tied for #8 in the USA Today Coaches' poll, and #9 in Collegiate Baseball.

That's nothing to frown upon!

UL finished the season with a 58-10 overall record. They won the Sun Belt Conference regular season and postseason championship, then eventually advanced all the way to the Super Regional round where they lost to Ole Miss in a three-game series.

The Cajuns were the highest ranked team in every poll not to make it to the College World Series. Vanderbilt ended up winning the national championship as they defeated Virginia in the three-game College World Series finals.
