Acadia Parish investigators are looking into the death of Rayne man after he slipped into a bayou while he was out fishing on Tuesday afternoon.

Acadia Sheriff Wayne Melancon says 37-year-old Christopher Bouillion often would fish from a bridge near the intersection of Fleur De Lis Lane and White Oak Highway.  The man left his house around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon to go fishing, and they say he never came back.

Deputies found Boullion's vehicle near the bridge, and then they found his body in the water.  They think he likely got tangled in his fishing line, fell into the water and then drowned.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner's Office
