I usually bring an apple or banana to work with me because I find it helps me get through the empty stomach, queasy, need food kind-of-feeling you get between breakfast and lunch. Jude likes to get on my case because I don't bring him enough fruits, so I decided to bring everyone a delicious fruit salad with honey vanilla yogurt sauce.

The best thing about fruit salad is that it is cheap, easy to prepare, healthy, and lasts a good while in the fridge. Most people go to the grocery and buy every different kind of fruit they see but don't have time to eat them all before they go bad. This is why a fruit salad is the best way to enjoy all of your favorite fruits at once.

Another thing that is so great about fruit salad is that during the hot, summer months, it is so refreshing and won't sabotage your waistline. Bathing suit season is right around the corner so let's start making some healthy changes. Here is what you need for the perfect fruit salad with honey vanilla yogurt sauce:

2 medium bananas
2 medium apples (whichever kind you prefer), diced into bite-size pieces
2 cup strawberries, halved
2 cups blueberries
1 cup blackberries
1 cup green grapes, halved
1 large orange, diced into bite-size pieces
2 cups nonfat, plain yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp good honey
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 vanilla bean, seeds scraped (optional)
1/2 juice from a lemon

Combine all fruit except for the bananas in a large bowl with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Add the bananas last and gently mix together. Next, combine the yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, vanilla bean seeds, and ground cinnamon. Spoon the fruit into bowls and top with a dollop of the yogurt sauce. Bon Appetit!
