Got a great young speller in your family? Here's the chance for them to get their school registered for Scripps National Spelling Bee!

The Kiwanis Regional Spelling Bee will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. on the University of Louisiana campus.

"Participation is open to all public, private, charter, parochial and home schools in Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary and Vermilion parishes.

Two spelling bees - one for 3rd-5th grades and one for 6th-8th grades - will be held, with the champion of the 6th-8th grade bee winning a trip to Washington, D.C., to represent our area in the Scripps National Spelling Bee."
