"The Relay for Life of Acadia Parish's 2013 set a goal of $46,000.00.  Our Relay teams have done a wonderful job raising a total of $45,542.88 and as of today we are $500.00 short on meeting that goal.  We are asking the community to help us out in our final push to reach goal.  The fight against cancer is only as strong as each of the individuals in that community.  We have an obligation to make our community event as successful as it can be.  If everyone makes the same committment, we will end cancer even sooner.  We as a community are determined that those fighting cancer will be supported, those that have lost their battle will NOT be forgotten and that together, we will continue to fight back.  So that one day, no one in Acadia Parish will hear those dreadful words - "you have cancer."
