Remember the classic show "Rescue 911" that was hosted by William Shatner? It came up this morning when we were talking about old shows that we miss. During an interview with Major Eddie Thibodeaux from St. Landry Parish Crimestoppers, he told us about the time Eunice was featured on the show. None of us remembered this, but YouTube comes to the rescue again.

The story goes like this: two boys were playing on Laurel Road in Eunice after some heavy rain. (Sidenote: many people actually call it Lake Laurel for obvious reasons.) The road was flooded and one of the boys got sucked into a drain. It took quick-thinking officers and first responders to get them to safety.

Was this the first reality show on TV? The Kardashians have a lot to live up to.
