Former LSU head football coach Les Miles is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach at Kansas, according to Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger.

The "Mad Hatter" will try to take the Jayhawks out of the bottom in the Big 12, where they've resided perpetually for the last 9 seasons.

Miles, who served as the Tigers head coach from 2005 to September of 2016, won two SEC Championships and a National Championship as LSU's head coach.

After yesterday's new of Miles agreeing to a settlement buyout from his contract with LSU, conventional wisdom was he would be the next head coach at Kansas. He's been the rumored front runner for the last several weeks.

For his career, Miles has won 141 games at LSU and Oklahoma State.
