The broadcaster didn't call his name an awful lot but you certainly could tell when he was and wasn't on the field. Former Saint Willie Roaf was a force to be reckoned with whenever the New Orleans Saints offense was on the field.

Yesterday Willie Roaf, or Nasty, as he was nicknamed on the field became the latest member of the Hall of Fame to enter wearing Black and Gold. Rickey Jackson joined the Hall of Fame as a Saint in 2010.

Roaf joined the Saints as a draft pick that was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Lions for then Saints star Pat Swilling . Roaf played his college ball in Ruston at Louisiana Tech, he was presented into the hall by his father Clifton, who only missed one home game of Roaf's college and professional career.

Also not missing Roaf's induction was New Orleans Head Coach Sean Payton who was allowed the special contact with the team while he is serving a one year suspension from the league. Willie Roaf was one of six individuals enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Canton in yesterday's ceremony.

Tonight in the annual Hall of Fame football game, the traditional start the NFL season. Roaf's former team the New Orleans Saints will take on the Arizona Cardinals. That game can be heard on the radio at our sister station Sports Radio ESPN 1420 with pregame coverage beginning at 5pm.
