Roaf joined the Saints as a draft pick that was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Lions for then Saints star Pat Swilling . Roaf played his college ball in Ruston at Louisiana Tech, he was presented into the hall by his father Clifton, who only missed one home game of Roaf’s college and professional career.
Also not missing Roaf’s induction was New Orleans Head Coach Sean Payton who was allowed the special contact with the team while he is serving a one year suspension from the league. Willie Roaf was one of six individuals enshrined in the Hall of Fame in Canton in yesterday’s ceremony.
