Saints Bring Back CB Patrick Robinson On 4 Year Deal

Patrick Robinson didn't live up to the first round expectations the New Orleans Saints fans had hoped for when he was drafted in 2010. Fans are hoping his second stint with the club will be different.

Robinson will sign a 4 year, $20 million contract with the Saints, first reported by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. The deal include a $5 million signing bonus, and $20 million guaranteed.

Drafted 32nd overall out of Florida State, Robinson played five seasons for the Saints.

In 2015, he signed a one year deal with the San Diego Chargers.

Showing improvement in his game, the Indianapolis Colts inked Robinson to a 3 year deal in 2016.

Earning a starting spot with Indianapolis, he dealt with various injuries, ending the season in injured reserve. The Colts released him last march.

Robinson then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles for one year, $775,000. In Philly, Robinson had the most productive season of his career, playing in all 16 games, starting 8, intercepting 4 passes in the regular season, and had a pick six in the NFC Championship game.

Coming off a Super Bowl championship with the Eagles, Robinson returns to New Orleans, joining starting cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Ken Crawley, along with P.J. Williams, Arthur Maulet, Justin Hardee, De'Vante Harris and Mykelle Thompson.
