The New Orleans Saints had two picks in the 1st round of the 2017 NFL draft because of the Brandin Cooks trade with the New England Patriots. They chose to go with defense with the #11 pick by picking cornerback Marshon Lattimore from Ohio State. The Who Dat faithful were curious to see who the Saints would pick the #32 pick. Some were hoping that Rueben Foster would fall so the Saints could get him but he ended up going to the San Francisco 49ers at #31.

With Foster gone, many were wondering if they would get another defensive player but the Saints ended up going with the offensive side of the ball for their 2nd pick in the first round. They would end up picking Wisconsin OT Ryan Ramzcyk, who could end up being the successor to Zach Strief.

The first round of the draft was definitely interesting with multiple trades and many of the teams in the top 10 going with offensive players, but it looks like the Saints 1st round could prove to be big for them especially with the needs they filled. The Saints will have 3 more picks in the top 105 as of right now so will they fill more needs on defense or will they fill other needs? Tune in to the second round of the draft tomorrow evening at 6 pm to find out.
