The New Orleans Saints are expected to interview a former San Francisco 49ers' head coach for a vacant opening of their staff.

According to nola.com, the Saints are expected to interview Jim Tomsula for the defensive line coach opening.

The 48-year old Tomsula, who went 5-11 in his lone season as head coach of the 49ers in 2015, did not coach in 2016.

Prior to his stint as the team's had coach, Tomsula served as an assistant coach for the 49ers from 2007-2014.

The Saints dismissed defensive line coach Bill Johnson, as well as four other assistant coaches, following the completion of the 2016 season.
