According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints are considering adding two former head coaches to their defensive staff. Romeo Crennel, recently fired by the Kansas City Chiefs, and Eric Mangini, two years removed from the Cleveland Browns, are said to be the two coaches of interest.

Saints coach Sean Payton has insinuated there is no rush to fill the vacancy at defensive coordinator. He announced the firing of Steve Spagnuolo from the position on Thursday. Payton also stated that his team's defense would make the switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4.

Mangini (pictured) commented yesterday that he has not been contacted by anyone from the Saints. Both Mangini and Crennel spent time together on the New England Patriots coaching staff that won 3 Super Bowls between 2001 and 2004.
